Curator and producer Peter Musante (Andrew Schneider's YOUARENOWHERE; Blue Man Group; Trusty Sidekick's Up and Away, a groundbreaking show for kids with autism, called 'immersive theater at its most thoughtful' by the New York Times) joins West Coast physical comedienne Summer Shapiro ('raises the craft of clowning to new levels'- NYTheatre.org) to conceive of a new immersive theater festival for the entire family, inspired by the community organizing principles of Jane Jacobs. With seven new works based on true events from Greenwich Village history, the festival brings together leading NYC experimental theatre artists, musicians, physical comedians and clowns for two programs, each consisting of an interactive pre-show and four short stories that bring the surrounding neighborhood to life. The event, recommended for ages 5 and up, is presented by New Ohio Theatre as part of its Theatre for Young Minds holiday series. The performances run from December 20 thru 31 at 154 Christopher Street, NYC. Marcie Gorman, Executive Producer & Artistic Director for MNM Theatre Company, today invited fans to its fourth and final production in 2018, the rock n' roll musical GREASE, the most popular movie musical in history. Co-presented by MNM and the Kravis Center for the Performing Arts, the show with a 15-person cast and backed by a live six-piece band, will run November 15 through December 2 in the Kravis Center's Rinker Playhouse.

Dallas Summer Musicals (DSM) has announced that its inaugural ANGEL Award, DSM's newest award and highest service honor, will be presented posthumously to the families of Charles S. Sharp and Ruth Collins Sharp Altshuler at the annual 2018 DSM Gala, An Evening With The Best of Broadway, taking place on Nov. 3.

Highlights from some of Red Rocks Amphitheatre's long history are heard on the new "Red Rocks Live" compilation released by Denver Arts & Venues this week. Originally conceived to celebrate the venue's 75th anniversary in 2015, the project grew to include tracks from as early as early as 1978 ("Ship of Fools" by The Grateful Dead) to tracks up to the anniversary season.

For more than three decades, George Christie was among the most prominent leaders of the Hells Angels biker organization. He was prosecuted and persecuted; hunted and hated, but always respected, even by his enemies, of which there were many. Now, Christie shares his journey from accused (though not convicted) murderer and arsonist to legitimate business owner and family man in the new, solo stage production OUTLAW. Written and directed by Richard La Plante, OUTLAW is coming to the Playhouse @ Westport Plaza June 29-July 1. Shakespeare & Company presents August Strindberg's dark comedy Creditors, adapted by critically acclaimed playwright David Greig and directed by Nicole Ricciardi of last season's hit show 4000 Miles. In this production of what Strindberg calls his 'most mature work,' three characters must face their past, confronting love, debt, and deception. Performances run from July 19 - August 12 in the Elayne P. Bernstein Theatre.

Joined by an ensemble of some of Brooklyn's sharpest comedic voices, Gordon Landenberger (Bruce) and trans actress Theda Hammel (Marie) double as the set and sound designers, respectively, for this hilarious and timely new production.

In a tradition that started in 1978 with Frankie Avalon, Grease: The Musical announces its fifth special cameo appearance by Grammy-Award singer/songwriter Michelle Williams who will join the other celebrity teen idols: Mark Ballas, George Canyon, Logan Henderson and Drake Bell -- in the iconic role of 'Teen Angel'.

This season features artists we feel are bringing life to our mission of fueling experiments in art and activism, including theater company Sister Sylvester, poet and writer collective Oye Group, director Knud Adams, playwright Amina Henry and burgeoning theater ensemble TV.

Grease has been a part of the American musical theater vernacular for so long - it opened in Chicago some 47 years ago in the halcyon days of 1971 - that it's easy to overlook the show's impact on theater, in general, and audiences, in particular. Its multiple revivals on Broadway, in regional theater and in various community theater and high school drama settings probably makes you believe you've seen in far more often than you actually have (unless, of course, you watch the film treatment with John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John over and over).
