Riverside Theatre Adds Performances of EVITA

Riverside Theatre's production of Evita adds two additional performances! Evita runs January 8-27, 2019 on the Stark Stage and is sponsored by Bobbie Olsen with additional support from Riverside Theatre's Patron Producers' Group.

"We are thrilled at the great demand for tickets for our production of Evita and have added two additional performances to our run," says Jon R. Moses, Managing Director, COO of the Theatre. "There is great excitement for this production and while we cannot extend the run beyond the close date of January 27th, we've been able to add a performance to week two and week three of the run."

The added performances are: Tuesday, January 15th at 7:30 pm and Thursday, January 24th at 2pm. With the added shows, the second and third week each have nine performances.

Evita will still close on Sunday, January 27th after the 2pm performance.

Winner of 7 Tony Awards® including Best Musical, Evita is the passionate, exhilarating story of Eva Perón who used her charisma and charms to rise from her penniless origins to political power as the first lady of Argentina at the age of 27.

Riverside Theatre's production of Evita is directed and choreographed by Tony Award® nominee Marcia Milgrom Dodge.

Created by Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber, Evita is filled with an electrifying score of pop, jazz and Latin influences. An international sensation when it opened on London's West End in 1978, Evita opened at the Broadway Theatre on September 25, 1979 and ran for almost four years. The show won 7 Tony Awards® including Best Musical and made stars of Patti LuPone as Evita and Mandy Patinkin as Che.

Riverside Theatre's Evita stars Natalie Cortez (Eva), Angel Lozada (Che), Enrique Acevedo (Peron), Martín Solá (Magaldi), Iliana Garcia (Mistress), and Baylin Bischoff (Young Eva).

The cast also includes: Paul Aguirre, Nicole Benoit, Theo Blumstein, Nathaniel Burich, Juan Caballer, Michelle Cabinian, Edgar Cavazos, Halley Cianfarini, Tyler Alexa Colgan, Hunter Cook, Giovanni Da Silva, Daniela Delahuerta, Dena DiGiacinto, Audrey Dowdell, Samantha Gershman, Jeff Gorti, Juan Guillen, Edgar Lopez, Ben Lundy, Erica Mancini, Adam Mandala, Félix Marchany, Sofia Tosches, Gina Ventura, and Lily Warner.

The production crew includes: Michael Baxter (Associate Director/Choreographer), Anne Shuttlesworth (Music Director), Michael Schweikardt (Scenic Designer), Richard St. Clair (Costume Designer), Yael Lubetzky (Lighting Designer), Craig Beyrooti (Sound Designer), Kurt Alger (Wig Designer), Mark Johnson (Production Stage Manager) and Amy Bertacini (Assistant Stage Manager). Casting was done in New York by Wojcik/Seay Casting.

Performances are Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays at 7:30pm; Fridays and Saturdays at 8pm; with matinees on Wednesdays, select Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays at 2pm.
