As the dancers of The Australian Ballet have returned to the studios following our summer break, the company has welcomed five new Australian Ballet School graduates to the barre - two dancers joining us after short-term engagements in 2018. In addition, eleven of our dancers will start the year in new positions, having been promoted at the end of 2018.

Paines Plough and Theatre Royal Plymouth have today announced the full cast for YOU STUPID DARKNESS!, a World Premiere from Sam Steiner (Lemons, Lemons, Lemons, Lemons, Lemons; Kanye the First), directed by Paines Plough Joint Artistic Director James Grieve. The new play, set in a call centre for Brightline helpline, looks at the struggle for optimism and community amid the chaos of a collapsing world. The cast includes David Carlyle, Andrew Finnigan, Becci Gemmell and Lydia Larson. The production marks the continuation of a long-standing relationship between Paines Plough and Theatre Royal Plymouth and follows the success of Love, Love, Love and The Angry Brigade.

Come join Pacific Symphony for a special treat this Christmas season, the "Nutcracker for Kids!" Conducted by Music Director of Pacific Symphony Youth Orchestra, Roger Kaila, this concert will include an assortment of sweet selections from Tchaikovsky's "The Nutcracker;" ballerinas from Orange County's acclaimed ballet company, Festival Ballet Theatre; actor James McHale; a grande finale sing-a-long; and a visit from the jolly man himself-Santa Claus! Performances for "The Nutcracker of Kids" will be on Dec. 8 at 10am or 11:30am at Pacific Symphony's winter home, Renee and Henry Segerstrom Concert Hall in Costa Mesa.
