Today, Williamstown Theatre Festival announced additional participants for the 2021 WTF Gala taking place virtually on Wednesday, April 7. Joining the festivities will be Olivier Award nominee Wendell Pierce (Death of a Salesman) who is a co-founder of Black Theatre United, a partner in WTF’s new Early Career BIPOC Theatre-Makers Program.

Page 73 today announced a new playwright-supporting initiative: self-directed retreats, tailored to writers’ individual needs and preferences. In lieu of the organization’s usual Summer Residency, this year Page 73 offers four playwrights in its community the opportunity to design their own week-long professional writing retreats.

Beginning on Saturday, April 3, 2021, the Jupiter String Quartet is presented by Arizona Friends of Chamber Music in a virtual concert featuring the world premiere of Stephen Andrew Taylor's Chaconne/Labyrinth. This performance was recorded exclusively for this online event in Smith Memorial Recital Hall at the University of Illinois in Champaign-Urbana, where the ensemble has been artists-in-residence since 2012, and where Taylor is a professor of Theory and Composition.

The Dramatists Guild of America will welcome two new members to its Council, Ty Defoe and Rona Siddiqui. The Guild is governed by a board of directors (Council) elected from its membership. These writers, in various stages of their theatrical careers, meet monthly to decide policy for the Guild. 

On Wednesday, March 24, 2021 at 6:30pm ET, Orchestra of St. Luke's will presents Sounds & Stories: Anna Clyne and Jyll Bradley, a live streamed performance that features two world premieres by composer Anna Clyne - Strange Loops for Clarinet Quintet and Woman Holding a Balance for String Quartet with a film by artists Jyll Bradley and David Ward.

Williamstown Theatre Festival announced today that the 2021 WTF Gala will take place virtually on Wednesday, April 7. The Gala will start at 7:30 PM ET, preceded by an interactive VIP pre-show for event sponsors and virtual table buyers, and will feature musical performances and special appearances from beloved friends of the Festival.

The School of Communication at Northwestern University will host a virtual residency with Hope Abelson Artist-in-Residence Michael R. Jackson Feb. 15 to March 5. During the residency, Jackson will visit classes, lead workshops for performers, dramatists, composers and lyricists and participate in a free livestream panel discussion at 7 p.m. CST, Thursday, Feb. 25.

Ucross, the renowned artist residency program in northeast Wyoming, is pleased to announce the establishment of two new endowed fellowships with Yale University. The fellowships will provide residencies at Ucross to theatre artists, composers, and musicians from the Yale School of Drama and the Yale School of Music.

Ars Nova, has announced its second slate of 2021 programming including six new events curated by composer Rona Siddiqui as part of the new Ars Nova Vision Residency program. Page 73 has named Bleu Beckford-Burrell the 2021 Page 73 Playwriting Fellow. An Interstate 73 writers group member who was first invited to work with Page 73 in their 2017 Summer Residency, Beckford-Burrell is also one of the playwrights granted 11-day virtual residencies this season.

Theatre Communications Group has announced the publication of A Strange Loop by Michael R. Jackson. The musical received its world premiere at Playwrights Horizons in New York in the summer of 2019.

Ringing in the new year, THE SPOTLIGHT SERIES, a bi-monthly live streamed concert series created by A LITTLE NEW MUSIC will “spotlight” the music of composer/lyricist, Khiyon Hursey on January 5th. 

Page 73 has announced Bleu Beckford-Burrell, Marvin González De León, Jessica Huang, April Ranger, and Haygen-Brice Walker as finalists for the Page 73 Playwriting Fellowship. Page 73 is, for the first time in the award’s history, providing an honorarium of $1,000 for all finalists.

On December 21, 2020 at 8 pm EST, the stars of Broadway, TV, and film will unite for a holiday celebration concert to support Middle Collegiate Church. Director/Choreographer Matthew Johnson Harris (Take Me to the World at Carnegie Hall, Alvin Ailey core instructor) will direct and host.
