Ariana DeBose kicked off the big night with a dance medley. The song was decidedly lyric-less, and the rest of the show will also be unscripted, due to the WGA strike. This was referenced at the beginning of the show, when DeBose flipped through a binder labeled 'Tony Awards Script', full of empty pages.

Studio Theatre has announced the cast of their production of Fun Home, with performances starting June 28. The musical, with music by Jeanine Tesori and book and lyrics by Lisa Kron, is based on the autobiographical graphic novel of the same name by cartoonist and writer Alison Bechdel.

Brandi Carlile has released her rendition of “Home” from The Wiz. The new song is the latest studio work from Carlile, whose recent producer projects include Shucked writer Brandy Clark’s new album. June 5, 2023 will mark the first time that Broadway has been without a show by Andrew Lloyd Webber since 1979 (between closing of his first Jesus Christ Superstar revival in 1978 and opening of Evita in 1979). That's the first time in a whopping 44 years.
