Extra! Extra! This just in! Disney's sensational blockbuster musical Newsies leaps onto the stage at the Huron Country Playhouse in Grand Bend for three weeks only. This exciting mega-musical, and winner of the 2012 Tony Award for Best Choreography, will entertain audiences of all generations with its heart, humour, and high-energy dancing from June 27 to July 13.

For the last five years, the New Amsterdam Theatre has been all about magic lamps, carpet rides, princes, thieves and genies! That's because Disney's Aladdin, which opened in 2014, has played well over 2000 performances there. 

Splashy casting news is plenty exciting but we're taking a moment to give a shoutout to the casts of some of Broadway's long-running shows. Meet the current cast of The Book of Mormon below!

Casting has been confirmed for the 69th Broadway At Music Circus season, which begins June 11 at the Wells Fargo Pavilion. The season includes four Broadway At Music Circus premieres, Shrek the Musical, The Drowsy Chaperone, The Wiz, and In the Heights.

The Ogunquit Playhouse 2019 season kicks off with Jersey Boys! The multi-Tony Award-winning, international sensation that performed to sold-out houses during its run in 2018, is back by popular demand May 15 through June 15. The cast that BroadwayWorld exclaimed to be "the closest you'll ever get to having seen Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons," also returns to the Ogunquit stage - Jonathan Mousset (Frankie Valli), Matt Magnusson (Tommy DeVito), Andy Christopher (Bob Gaudio), and Matthew Amira (Nick Massi).

New Years Day teams up with YouTube for the worldwide premiere of their American Psycho inspired music video for “Shut Up”. Fans had the opportunity to tune in on YouTube from 1-3PM EST on May 1st to chat with the band before and after the exclusive live premiere at 2PM EST. BroadwayWorld is saddened to report that longtime general manager of Broadway, Alan Wasser passed away yesterday, April 14. Wasser was the recipient of a Special Tony Awards Honor in 2017 and general manager of the Tony Awards from 2009 to 2012.

Austin-based musician Abram Shook has released a new single, “Can't Get Away”, today via Western Vinyl, hinting at a new album, the follow up to 2017's Love At Low Speed, for later this year.

River City's about to get the last thing they expected ? and the very thing they need ? in The Music Man. Rebel Genius, a new musical from Peabody Award-winning songwriter and film composer Matthew Puckett, and based on the life of the young and highly ambitious Albert Einstein, will have its world premiere at the UCLA School of Theater, Film and Television's (UCLA TFT) Little Theater today, March 8, 2019. Rebel Geniuscrashes physics and love into one another as Albert falls madly in love with Mileva Maric and then risks everything he has to find a perfect Unified Theory of the Universe. Book, music and lyrics by Matthew Puckett; directed by Ovation Award winner Brian Kite; choreographed by Ovation Award winner Dana Solimando; musical direction by Dan Belzer and Jeremy Mann.

A love letter to the golden age of Broadway, Bullets Over Broadway The Musical brings the classic musical comedy back with a bang. Loaded with the songs that made the 1920s roar, this splashy musical features Jazz Age standards including 'Let's Misbehave,' ''Tain't Nobody's Biz-ness If I Do,' "Tiger Rag," and 'Up a Lazy River.' In this madcap comedy, a young playwright finally gets his play produced on Broadway, but discovers there's a catch: the mobster putting up the funds wants a vehicle for his ditzy, talent-free girlfriend. Throw in an aging diva, dancing gangsters, and a bevy of beautiful chorus girls, and comedic capers ensue. 92Y announces a 2nd-anniversary celebration for Come From Away, the heart-stealing, Tony-winning, Grammy-nominated, critical and box office smash hit that tells the remarkable true story of 7,000 passengers stranded after 9/11 and the small Newfoundland town that welcomed them. Irene Sankoff and David Hein (book, music, & lyrics), and cast members Happy McPartlin, Jim Walton and Julie Reiber come to 92Y on March 3 to share favorite memories and inside stories in conversation with Playbill's Ruthie Fierberg.
