The Harry Potter Film Concert Series returns to DeVos Performance Hall with Harry Potter and Half-Blood Prince in Concert, the sixth film in the Harry Potter series. Queer couples in the greater Boston area: if you are looking for a mushy, warm, romantic gay love story with a backbone and plenty of heartbreak that will make you want to cuddle up with your partner between now and Valentine's Day weekend, you couldn't do much better than Actors' Shakespeare Project's Bright Half Life, playing at the Plaza Theatre at the Boston Center for the Arts. (If you don't already have plans for the 14th, I recommend purchasing tickets to the 8 o'clock performance that evening, which should leave you enough time to get dinner at Buttermilk & Bourbon beforehand. The 65 minute run time leaves ample time for an ice cream at Picco afterward, while still allowing time to catch the T before it shuts down for the night.) When I saw the show, I did not have a significant other with whom I could cuddle (so if the aforementioned evening sounds like your idea of a good time, I'd be delighted to splurge and Dutch treat), but the audience was filled with visibly queer, femme-presenting couples holding each others' hands, snapping their fingers in agreement, and letting out an occasional 'awww' in moments of tenderness.

CBS took the ratings crown for the first week of the new year, kicking off the second half of the season with a strong performance. For the week ending Sunday, Jan. 5 (week 15 of the 2019-2020 broadcast season), the Network attracted 7.79 million viewers, beating the closest competition (NBC, which had the Golden Globes) by over +1 million viewers (6.63 million, +18%). This was CBS' largest weekly audience since the week ending April 7, 2019.

Great Lakes Theater (GLT), Cleveland's Classic Company, commences the second half its 2019-20 season with the ultimate whodunit thriller, Sleuth. The world-class production will be performed in the company's intimate and audience-friendly home at the Hanna Theatre, Playhouse Square, February 14 - March 8, 2020. Oprah Winfrey Network announced today the new night and time for the second half of season three of its hit docu-series, “Black Love,” which returns with all new episodes on Friday, November 8 at 8:00 p.m. ET/PT. The series, which celebrates love stories from the Black community, will anchor a new night of original holiday movies about African American families.
