Pasadena Playhouse has announced the cast for the 50th anniversary production of A Little Night Music. See who is starring, and how to purchase tickets!

 Chart-topping vocalist Jackie Evancho will perform music from her album Carousel of Time featuring songs by Joni Mitchell on Sunday October 16 at City Winery Boston. Evancho will take her audience on a musical panegyric from Joni's earliest classics “Both Sides Now” to her iconic 1971 hits, “A Case of You” and “Blue” to her enduring all season standard, “River.” 

In support of her new album, Jackie Evancho: Carousel of Time, honoring the timeless music of Joni Mitchell, Jackie Evancho will perform a select number of shows dedicated to the  music from the album. 

Evancho has been working on a musical panegyric of Joni Mitchell for some time. Closures from the pandemic led to the album's delay. Jackie Evancho - Carousel of Time, will be released late summer of this year, with at least 2 more singles slated for release on digital streaming platforms ahead of the full-length album. Derrick Davis (The Phantom of the Opera, The Lion King, Carousel, Film's A Christmas Story, Can a Song Save Your Life), Arielle Jacobs (Aladdin, Wicked, Between the Lines, and In the Heights) and Telly Leung (Aladdin, Rent, TV's Glee, and Allegiance) will join the star-studded cast featuring previously announced performers.

Eden Espinosa, Joshua Henry, and Megan Hilty will raise the roof with a program specifically curated by The Soraya which include songs from the late Stephen Sondheim’s Sunday in the Park with George and Company, plus numbers from Wicked, Hamilton, Carousel, and more.

West Side Story is officially in previews on Broadway! Porchlight Music Theatre's final production in its 2018 - 2019 'lost' musicals in staged concert series is Porchlight Revisits Minnie's Boys,  with book by Groucho Marx's son Arthur Marx and Robert Fisher, music by Larry Grossman and lyrics by Hal Hackady with direction and choreography by Christopher Pazdernik and musical direction by Christie Chiles Twille.  Porchlight Revisits Minnie's Boys is presented for three performances Wednesday, May 22 at 7:30 p.m. and Thursday, March 23 at 2 p.m. and  7:30 p.m. at The Ruth Page Center for the Arts, 1016 N. Dearborn Street.

In 2010, the musical comedy Band Geeks premiered at Goodspeed, and now, almost nine years later, its score is finally available for listening. The EP of Band Geeks features seven of Mark Allen, Gaby Alter, and Tommy Newman's catchy songs. While it's very clearly a product of its time - that late 2000s/early-Glee era pop sound - every song is funny and earnest with charm to spare.

Berkeley Repertory Theatre today announced the full cast and creative team for Paradise Square: An American Musical. The world premiere is helmed by acclaimed director Moises Kaufman, with choreography by the legendary Bill T. Jones and a book by Marcus Gardley, Craig Lucas, and Larry Kirwan. Music by Jason Howland and Larry Kirwan, with lyrics by Nathan Tysen, and based on the songs of Stephen Foster. Paradise Square is produced by special arrangement with Garth H. Drabinsky in association with Peter LeDonne and Teatro Proscenium Limited Partnership.

The Vancouver Christmas Market returns to Jack Poole Plaza (at the Olympic Cauldron), November 21 to December 24, 2018, with extended hours from 11:30am to 9:30pm. The city's signature yuletide celebration amplifies and expands its festive offerings with more than 80 huts stuffed with sweets, treats, and treasures, coupled with an increased lineup of large-scale activities and live entertainmnet.

Midtown Arts Center, formerly Carousel Dinner Theatre, has been serving Broadway-style entertainment to Northern Colorado since 1991. In 2010, the business moved from its original location growing its space from 7,500 sq ft to its current 22,000 sq ft facility at 3750 Mason Street, Fort Collins, Colorado. In January of 2018 the facility that houses Midtown Arts Center was sold to Housing Catalyst of Fort Collins with plans for a multi-million dollar renovation to provide permanent/supportive low-income housing to the Fort Collins area. The search began to find a new facility that included possibilities such as renovating existing "big-box" spaces and a full ground-start new build.

Performers from Broadway's Hamilton, Mean Girls and Carousel will be among the professional mentors for the Great American Songbook Foundation's 2018 Songbook Academy, the nation's only summer youth music intensive focused on the timeless standards of jazz, pop, Broadway and Hollywood.

Opera Saratoga's Artistic and General Director Lawrence Edelson announced that the company's 2018 Summer Festival will feature new productions of four operas at The Spa Little Theatre in Spa State Park, along with a wide variety of free and ticketed concert events from May 26 through July 15 at venues throughout the region.
