I went on a fabulous cruise to Alaska on the Celebrity Solstice, through Seth Rudetsky’s Broadway Vacations. The best part was interacting with Seth, his husband (James Wesley) and the three other Broadway stars: Donna McKechnie, James Monroe Iglehart, and Ann Hampton Calloway. The scenery was impressive as well.

The musical was composed by the late Marvin Hamlisch (A Chorus Line) with lyrics by Rupert Holmes (The Mystery of Edwin Drood). It is based on the iconic 1963 film by the late Jerry Lewis. This album signifies the last musical written by Hamlisch before his untimely passing.

The story follows the Bottom brothers, who struggle to find success in the theatrical world as they compete with the wild popularity of their contemporary William Shakespeare. Directed by Gustavo Barchilon, the musical stars Marcos Veras, George Sauma, Laila Garin, Leo Bahia and a great cast.

Sage Gateshead has announced plans for its Big Bruckner Weekend, an epic immersion into the music of the Austrian composer on his 200th anniversary.
