Washer/Dryer by Nandita Shenoy is a contemporary comedy about a modern Indian-American woman who elopes with a Chinese-American man only to realize that happily-ever-after is much more challenging when youre living on an actors salary and trying to hold onto an apartment that has the most coveted of amenities its own washer/dryer. A colorful cast of nosy neighbors and a disapproving mother-in-law take the dual-ethnicity couple for a spin in this Rom-Com about Crazy Poor Asians. Under the pressures of culture and tradition, they discover that they havent been entirely honest with each other or themselves, and must decide if all is really fair in love and real estate.Washer/Dryer is written by Nandita Shenoy, directed by Agastya Kohli and is a co-production between SIS Productions and Pratidhwani. The play features: Reeti Diwan, Kathy Hsieh, Elisabeth Ballstadt, Lee Yang, and Van Lang Pham. Intimacy Direction is by Alyssa Kay. Scenic design is by David Hsieh, costume and props design by Pallavi Agarwai & Swati Srivastav, lighting design by Richard Schaefer, and sound design by Roger Tang.
