Lakewood Playhouse presents Pipeline, Dominique Morisseau's drama examining the American educational system and the "school-to-prison pipeline" — the policies and practices that disproportionately push students of color out of classrooms and into the justice system. Whitney Crawford stars as Nya, an inner-city public school teacher who must confront her son Omari's anger and her own choices as a parent when a controversial incident at his private school threatens his future. Isaiah Myers plays Omari, with Kaelynn Miller, Diana Trotter, Darryin B. Cunningham, and Don Anderson II rounding out the cast. The production is directed by Michelle N. Matlock and runs April 24 through May 10 at Lakewood Playhouse.
