Pacific Northwest Opera Presents 'Ariadne auf Naxos' at McIntyre Hall Performing Arts and Conference Center

Pacific Northwest Opera will be presenting Richard Strauss’s Ariadne auf Naxo.. In it, the wealthiest man in Vienna has commissioned a tragic opera called “Ariadne auf Naxos” to impress his guests, and also hired a comedia dell'arte troop to entertain them. He then decides that in order to finish by 9 pm in time for the fireworks he has planned, the tragedy and the comedy must be performed together, at the same time, on the same stage. Needless-to-say, there erupts great consternation and chaos. The music is brilliant, filled with wit and great passion.
