OUT THERE Residency Showing at 12th Ave Arts Studio Theater

This residency showing features new research from OUT THERE artists Akoiya Harris and Vlada Kremenović, offering a first look at their upcoming 30-minute works before they premiere at Velocity's experimental dance festival. Harris presents a meditation on the connections between Black experiences in Seattle and the ways the Duwamish River has been changed by outside forces, exploring themes of survival, resilience, and cultural memory through movement, poetry, and visual aids. Kremenović presents Medusa, a multidisciplinary dance performance diving into the life cycle of jellyfish featuring all trans performers, with original sound by Fox Whitney, performed by Vlada Kremenović, Will Courtney, Lío Sainz-Jones, and Tayler Tucker.
