Bad Kreyòl, written by Tony Award-nominated playwright Dominique Morisseau and directed by Stori Ayers, follows first-generation Haitian American Simone as she returns to Haiti to fulfill her grandmother's dying wish and reconnect with her Haitian-born cousin Gigi. When misconceptions and misunderstandings lead to dangerous mistakes, both cousins are forced to reckon with what they know — and don't know — about their family and themselves. A New York Times Critic's Pick, the play explores cultural identity, language, and the bonds of family through the lens of the Haitian diaspora.
