Review: LERNER & LOEWE'S CAMELOT at Ouachita Little Theatre in Mena

by Theresa Bertram — Aug 5, 2026

I absolutely love discovering hidden theatre gems, and Ouachita Little Theatre is exactly that! Nestled at the foot of Rich Mountain near the Oklahoma border, this charming community theatre continues to surprise me with the incredible talent it produces. Every visit reminds me that you don't have to travel to a major city to experience outstanding live theatre.

Review: SPAMALOT at Starlight Theatre

by Alan Portner — Aug 5, 2026

The current national tour of Monty Python's Spamalot opened at Starlight Theatre on Tuesday evening August 4, for a weeklong residency.  This is my first exposure to this joyful send-up of all things musical theatre, motion pictures, vaudeville, and puppetry.  Can you say” inspired silliness?”  There are more joke lines embedded in Spamalot” than you can plausibly keep up with.

Review: HAIR at Gretna Theatre

by Rich Mehrenberg — Jul 25, 2026

Lastly, speaking of generations, this show lands differently in 2026. Hair is a celebration of peace, love, and joy associated with the youth culture of the Boomer generation. When the show was first produced, it was easy to go along with the idealism and righteousness that the story celebrates. However, with time and reflection, the question that kept nagging me as an audience member was when and why did this generation change their priorities?
