Girlfriends: A Not So Straight Play is a one-woman show based on a true story about Scout, a queer woman who crosses the USA with a stranger in a 1998 Honda Civic, traveling from New York to California with $200. The show interweaves Shakespeare, Bob Dylan, Norah Jones, and Joni Mitchell in what is described as a cabaret of queer confusion, exploring themes of grief, friendship, and self-discovery. Written and performed by Sara Malinowski and directed by Ash Malloy, the play made its world premiere at Hollywood Fringe and was featured at The Tank's Pridefest in New York City before coming to Edinburgh Fringe.
