East is East at Citizens Theatre

East is East, marking the 30th anniversary of Ayub Khan Din's play, is directed by Kash Arshad in a co-production with Octagon Theatre Bolton and Wiltshire Creative, in association with Derby Theatre. The play tells the story of a mixed-race British Pakistani family in 1970s Salford, exploring their trials and tribulations with warmth, humour and heart. Arshad, for whom the Citizens Theatre was a formative space early in his career, returns to direct this new staging of the work that was also made into a BAFTA Award-winning film.
