Do Not Pass Go at Eden Court, Inverness

Do Not Pass Go is a new show from award-winning theatre company Jordan & Skinner, created and performed by Melanie Jordan and directed by Caitlin Skinner. The show tells the story of Lizzie Magie, a pioneering feminist, economist, and games designer who invented "The Landlord's Game" — the board game that would become Monopoly — only to have her creation stolen by Charles Darrow, who became the first millionaire games designer in history. Using clown, physical theatre, dance, British Sign Language, and spoken English, the show uses Magie's story to explore why women continue to be disadvantaged by economic systems and why alternatives to the status quo remain difficult to imagine. Do Not Pass Go is Jordan & Skinner's first production fully accessible to deaf audiences, featuring integrated BSL performed by a cast member.
