The Marsh San Francisco transforms into the "Nowhere to Go but Up Club" for a special series of shows featuring beloved crooner Johnny Lonely, played by Brian Lohmann, accompanied by Joshua Raoul Brody on piano. When Johnny Lonely is dumped by his girlfriend and his career stalls, he turns to a cattle call audition to put on his saddest show to date. The show is a buddy comedy told through melancholy pop covers, jazz standards, and original music, written by Brian Lohmann with additional material by Joshua Raoul Brody, and directed by Cliff Mayotte. Originally developed as Johnny Lonely's Unhappy Hour and first performed at the Paradise Lounge in San Francisco in 1987, this new iteration features a refreshed repertoire and timely jokes.
