Andromeda at Creativity Theater

A one-act chamber opera set in ancient Egypt, dramatizing the myth of Perseus and Andromeda. Princess Andromeda is offered as a sacrifice to a sea monster sent by Poseidon, and Perseus vows to slay the beast and win her hand. The cast includes Aura Veruni as Andromeda, Sara Couden as Perseus, Sidney Ragland as King Cepheus, Kindra Scharich as Cassiopeia, and Maxwell Ary as Agenore. Composed by Marc'Antonio Ziani on a libretto by Pietro Pariati, the opera premiered in 1714 at the Hapsburg Court and has not been performed since.
