2011 Globe Honors Auditions to Take Place 5/7 -9

Recognizing excellence in high school theater, auditions for the 2011 Globe Honors competition will take place May 7-9 at The Old Globe. Semifinalists and finalists will perform in the Old Globe Theatre, part of the Globe's Conrad Prebys Theatre Center, on May 16 at 7:00 p.m. The evening will conclude with the announcement of the Globe Honors winners and an award ceremony.
Balboa Theate Welcomes STOMP, 4/19-24

STOMP, the international sensation, is making its triumphant return to San Diego's BALBOA THEATRE, playing April 19 - 24, 2011. The return of the percussive hit also brings some new surprises, with some sections of the show now updated and restructured and the addition of two new full-scale routines, utilizing props like tractor tire inner tubes and paint cans. We also have two San Diegans in the company: Michael Landis and Mike Sylvia!

Executive Producer Lou Spisto today announced the complete cast and creative team for Tracy Letts' award-winning play, August: Osage County. Directed by Obie Award winner Sam Gold, the dark comedy will run in the Old Globe Theatre, part of the Globe's Conrad Prebys Theatre Center, May 7 - June 12. Preview performances run May 7 - May 11. Opening night is Thursday, May 12 at 7:00 p.m. Tickets are currently available by subscription only. Saddle up! The Theatre School at North Coast Rep is presenting Shakespeare's The Comedy of Errors March 31 through April 3. The Comedy of Errors tells the tale of the separation and reunion of a husband and wife, their twin sons and twin servants. Along the way, there are numerous instances of mistaken identity, leading to slapstick humor. In an unusual twist, the play is set in the Old West, and features a cast of talented area students from North County and surrounding communities.
