The winner of the Drama Critics' Circle Award for Best Musical, 'Violet' is a production filled with show-stopping anthems of the 1960's American south. Previews begin Aug. 20, 2015. Opening night is Wednesday, Aug. 26, 2015 and runs through Sunday, Sept. 13, 2015 on the Lyceum Stage.

Cygnet Theatre to Stage Two Noel Coward Classics This Fall

Cygnet's tradition of shows performed in rotating rep continues with Noel Coward's Hay Fever (dir. Rob Lutfy) and The Vortex (dir. Sean Murray). These two plays turned Coward into an overnight sensation, one light and madcap, the other dark and shocking. Written at the same time, they represent opposite sides of Coward's talent. San Diego favorite Rosina Reynolds takes on the strong female roles in both these productions. Opening night for both productions is Saturday, October 3rd at 3 (Hay Fever) and 8 pm (The Vortex).

This four-week program, which guides students through workshops and rehearsals, will culminate with a public performance of two, one-hour versions of Shakespeare's plays, Love's Labor's Lost, directed by Ray Chambers, and The Tempest, directed by Vivia Font, on the Donald and Darlene Shiley Stage in the Old Globe Theatre, part of the Globe's Conrad Prebys Theatre Center, on Monday, August 10 at 7:00 p.m.
