Morrisson Theatre Chorus Performs Holiday Concert This Weekend

The Morrisson Theatre Chorus, under the musical direction of Cesar Cancino, will present its Holiday Concert: Special Songs for a Special Time of the Year this weekend, December 10, December 11 and December 12 at 8:00pm and December 13 at 2:00pm. The Holiday Concert will feature a selection of Classical Sacred works, Popular Holiday songs, Jazz and Gospel, as well as audience sing-a-long pieces.
Cast, Creative Team Announced for La Jolla Playhouse's GUARDS AT THE TAJ

La Jolla Playhouse announces the cast and creative team for Guards at the Taj, the final production of the 2015/2016 season. Written by Pulitzer Prize finalist Rajiv Joseph (Bengal Tiger at the Baghdad Zoo), the show marks Associate Artistic Director Jaime Castañeda's directorial debut at the Playhouse. The production will run February 2 - 28, 2016 (press opening: Wednesday, February 10) in the Sheila and Hughes Potiker Theatre. Tickets go on sale Sunday, December 6 at LaJollaPlayhouse.org or by calling (858) 550-1010.
Wells Fargo Center Adds Vince Gill, Elvis Costello & Emmylou Harris to 2016 Schedule

Wells Fargo Center for the Arts announced today the addition of three new shows in 2016: Vince Gill on Wednesday March 23, Elvis Costello on Tuesday March 29 and Emmylou Harris on Friday September 30. All shows are at 8:00 pm in the Ruth Finley Person Theatre and tickets for the three new shows go on sale to the public Friday, December 18 at noon. Tickets for Vince Gill are $79 and $59; for Elvis Costello $85 and $69 and for Emmylou Harris $69 and $49 and they may be purchased online at wellsfargocenterarts.org, by calling 707-546-3600, and in person at the box office at 50 Mark West Springs Road in Santa Rosa.
Douglas Morrisson Theatre to Host Holiday Open House, 12/19

On December 19, 2015, from 1:00 to 4:00pm, the Douglas Morrisson Theatre will host an open house to welcome the community inside for some good cheer and fun in celebration of the holiday season. The Old Globe will present WHEN IT COMES with free public workshop presentations, marking the culmination of Mike Sears's 2015 San Diego Foundation Creative Catalyst Grant. Inspired by writer Sears's real-life experiences, the piece was developed in collaboration with a team of local artists: four San Diego actors, puppetry by Animal Cracker Conspiracy (Iain Gunn and Bridget Rountree), music by Clinton Davis, and direction by Sears's wife, Lisa Berger.

On the evening of Saturday, Nov. 7, 350 attendees gathered at The Hilton San Diego Resort and Spa to honor three LGBT advocates at San Diego Human Dignity Foundation's second annual Aston-Brooks Awards Gala. Attendees enjoyed a hosted cocktail reception, silent auction, dinner, a cabaret show and VIP entertainment featuring Broadway legend, Andrea McArdle, who turned heads with her cabaret performance singing excerpts from Broadway hits and the 1970s, including 'I Dreamed A Dream' from 'LES MISERABLES,' 'Being Alive' from 'Company' and closed with her iconic number 'Tomorrow' from 'Annie.'
