Coronado Playhouse is the longest running community theatre in San Diego County and Coronado's oldest arts organization. The 2016 season marks 70 years of entertainment, service and outreach to Coronado and Southern California audiences.

The Anniversary season continues with the Tony Award®-winning musical, A Little Night Music. This hilarious and heartbreaking story explores the tangled web of affairs centered around the renowned actress, Desiree Armfeldt, and the men who love her. The men, and their jealous wives, agree to join the actress and her family for a weekend in the country. With everyone in one place, infinite possibilities of new romances and second chances bring endless surprises. Originally produced and directed on Broadway by Harold Prince, this Stephen Sondheim classic takes its story and theme from Ingmar Bergman's highly respected film, Smiles of a Summer Night (1955) and includes Sondheim's most beloved and covered song, "Send in the Clowns".

During the six-week run of performances April 1-May 8, 2016, Coronado Playhouse, the Community's Theatre, is raising money and awareness for Deaf Community Services of San Diego, Inc. Deaf Community Services is the only non- profit agency in San Diego that serves deaf, hard-of-hearing, and late-deafened children and adults. Clients include seniors with hearing loss, individuals who use cochlear implants or hearing aids, deaf infants and children whose parents are seeking advice and guidance, and members of the Deaf community.
