Species of Least Concern at Capital Stage Theatre

Written by John Yunker and directed by Anthony D'Juan, this staged reading follows entomologist Wayne Hatfield, who discovers a bumble bee widely believed to be extinct on the same day he is run over by a reckless mountain biker above the hills of Ashland, Oregon. The absence of proof drives Wayne back up the mountain, while his frustrated wife Nancy, a science writer, is courted by their newly divorced neighbor Dan. Meanwhile, someone has begun laying traps along the hiking trails, injuring bikers and making Wayne a prime suspect. Part of Capital Stage's 13th Annual New Play Festival, Playwrights' Revolution.
