Sacramento Music Circus has posted a first-look video of its new production of HAIRSPRAY, giving audiences an early glimpse of the Broadway At Music Circus staging ahead of performances. The clip offers a preview of the show's colorful world and energetic musical numbers.
HAIRSPRAY follows 16-year-old Tracy Turnblad in 1960s Baltimore as she sets out to dance her way onto TV's most popular show. The musical comedy carries a score of well-known songs including 'Welcome to the '60s,' 'Good Morning Baltimore' and 'You Can't Stop the Beat,' and has been described by The New York Times as 'deliriously tuneful.'
The production is part of Sacramento Music Circus's slate of Broadway At Music Circus stagings, which has recently included Mel Brooks' YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN and DISNEY'S FROZEN at the company's in-the-round venue.
For San Francisco Bay Area audiences familiar with the musical, San Francisco Playhouse also released a trailer for its own concurrent production of HAIRSPRAY, closing out that company's 2025-26 season.
