George Bernard Shaw. Translated from English. E. Kalashnikova.
A comedy in two acts.
In "Metamorphoses" of Ovid is the story: Pygmalion fell in love with a statue that he himself had carved, and, heeding his plea, a statue of Aphrodite revived ... George Bernard Shaw in his comedy of "Pygmalion" in its own way the story turned. Phonetics Professor Higgins makes an agreement, that the vulgar street traders for six months will bring up a creature that in light of the high pass for a genuine lady, and he succeeds. But the new, he created Eliza, so good, that the professor can not imagine my life without her. These and other characters play quite a charming story with superb dialogue and amusing situations which resist the charm is just not possible.
