Maude [Helen Raptis], a fifty-something unemployed bartender living in a trailer park, has bought a painting for a few bucks from a thrift store. Despite almost trashing it, shes now convinced its a lost masterpiece by Jackson Pollock worth millions. But when world-class art expert Lionel Percy [Michael Fisher-Welsh] flies over from New York and arrives at her trailer home in Bakersfield to authenticate the painting, he has no idea what he is about to discover. Inspired by true events, this hilarious and thought-provoking comedy-drama asks vital questions about what makes art and people truly authentic.

Helen Raptis

Maude
I'm so thrilled to be starring in Bakersfield Mist with Michael Fisher-Welsh. I knew I wanted to take on the role of Maude Gutman the second I read the script!  She's so much fun to embody, maybe it's her potty mouth that I love most!  This is my seventh production with triangle productions! The others were At Wit's End, I'll Eat You Last, A chat with Sue Mengers, Next Fall, 5 Lesbians Eating a Quiche, the breakout smash hit Sordid Lives and Juicy Tomatoes!  I am extremely grateful to have the support of friends and family. To Janet Lynn Bates, who helped this old lady study her lines, Ellyn Bye who supports triangle productions! with big donations and her big heart, my very patient Director Don Horn, "Remember, Helen..." and especially my understanding husband David  Schmitke. And a huge thank you to you, the audience!!
