Point Park Conservatory Adds 4/8 Performance To ROCKY HORROR SHOW

Due to popular demand, Point Park University's Conservatory Theatre Company is adding a performance on Wednesday, April 8 at 8 p.m. to The Rocky Horror Show run at the Pittsburgh Playhouse; patrons who come 'dressed up' to this performance will receive $5 off the regular ticket price of $18. Richard O'Brien's cult classic musical is on stage through April 11.

Nickelodeon and Broadway Across America are teaming up to bring 'Dora the Explorer Live! Search for the City of Lost Toys,' starring the world's most famous Latina explorer, to Pittsburgh from March 20-22, 2009 for seven performances. The last Dora 'Lost Toys' U.S. tour was seen by more than 1.2 million people during its 2003-2004 run. The 'Dora the Explorer Live!' shows have grossed more than $85 million in sales worldwide, traveled to more than 255 markets across North America, Europe, Asia, Australia, Southeast Asia and have been seen by 2.7 million kids and parents.

Producing Artistic Director Ted Pappas has announced the line-up for Pittsburgh Public Theater's 09/10 season. The six-play subscription series begins October 1, 2009 and runs through June 27, 2010. 'Our audiences will experience a season of infinite variety,' Pappas said. 'Included are Shakespeare's best-loved play, a musical about the greatest jazz singer of all time, and a ferocious tour-de-force starring a great actress. Add to that a British comic masterpiece from a living genius and friend, a Pulitzer Prize-winning romantic comedy by an American treasure, and a sweet surprise as the finale. The Incredibly Innovative Innovators of Pittsburgh, a Pittsburgh CLO Gallery of Heroes production, kicked off its spring tour January 12, 2009, at Peabody High School. Originally developed to coincide with the Pittsburgh 250 celebration, this educational and entertaining production was extended for an additional tour by popular demand. The show is traveling to local schools, teaching students about the men, women and innovations from Pittsburgh that have helped to change the world during the last 250 years. The spring tour will run through May 15 at schools in Allegheny, Beaver, Butler, Green, Indiana, Washington and Westmoreland Counties in Pennsylvania and in Weirton, West Virginia. The production is presented in partnership with the Senator John Heinz History Center.
