A Lighthearted Screwball Comedy by Eric K. Hatch

Set in New York during the Depression, a ditzy socialite named Irene and her more cold sister Cornelia go on a scavenger hunt as part of a party game, where whoever brings a "forgotten man" home first is the winner. They go to the city dump where Irene meets Godfrey, a well-spoken but down on his luck drifter. After Godfrey agrees to go with Irene to help her win the scavenger hunt, she offeres him a position as a butler for her eccentric family. Godfrey accepts her offer and, although he finds the family to be the epitome of rich nutjobs, he enjoys this new position and has every intention of keeping it. Soon Irene finds herself developing romantic feelings for Godfrey, who feels a romantic relationship between and steward and employer is out of place, all while her sister Cornelia, scorned by him helping Irene win the game instead of her, is determined to plot against and get rid of him. A romantic screwball comedy ultimately anchored by a serious social theme, "My Man Godfrey" has been an enduring crowd favorite for years!

Based on the 1936 comedy film of the same name (starring William Powell and Carole Lombard).
