Photo Coverage: WICKED Returns to Manila Gala Night

Manila, Philippines--Coming directly from a multi record-breaking tour of the UK and Ireland, Stephen Schwartz' WICKED plays in Manila for the second time as part of a major international tour. Gala night was held last Wednesday, February 8, 2017.

West End and UK actors lead the cast including Jacqueline Hughes (Elphaba), Carly Anderson (Glinda), Bradley Jaden (Fiyero), Steven Pinder (The Wizard and Doctor Dillamond), Kim Ismay (Madame Morrible), IdDon Jones (Boq), Emily Shaw (Nessarose), and Jodie Steele (who performs the role of Elphaba at certain performances).

Completing the cast are Kyle Anthony, Joe Atkinson, Sam Brown, Hannah Cadec, Joel Cooper, Nicholas Corre, James Davies-Williams, Natasha Ferguson, Elizabeth Futter, Zoe George, Amy Goodwin, Alex Jordan-Mills, Stuart MacIver, Tom Mather, Stacey McGuire, Sara Morley, Emily Olive Boyd, Wendy-Lee Purdy, Dean Read, Paul Saunders, Elisha Sherman, Joshua St Clair, and Hannah Veerapen.

Set in a spectacular and colorful fantasy world of wizards, witches, magic, and spells, WICKED tells the story of an unlikely but profound friendship between a popular blonde girl, Galinda, and a misunderstood, green-skinned girl, Elphaba. Filled with wonder and enchantments, the magical stage musical follows their extraordinary journey from sorcery students to becoming the iconic Glinda The Good and the Wicked Witch of the West from L. Frank Baum's beloved tale "The Wonderful Wizard of Oz."

The show has music and lyrics by Stephen Schwartz, a book by Winnie Holzman, and is based on the acclaimed novel by Gregory Maguire. The production is directed by Joe Mantello, with musical staging by Wayne Cilento. Scenic design is by Eugene Lee, costumes by Susan Hilferty, lighting design by Kenneth Posner, sound design by Tony Meola, projection designs by Elaine J. McCarthy, and hair and wig designs by Tom Watson. Music arrangements are by Alex Lacamoire and Stephen Oremus, with dance arrangements by James Lynn Abbott, orchestrations by William David Brohn, and musical supervision by Stephen Oremus.

WICKED is produced around the world by Marc Platt, Universal Stage Productions, The Araca Group, Jon B. Platt, and David Stone. Its executive producer (UK/International Tour) is Michael McCabe. In Manila, the show is presented by Lunchbox Theatrical Productions and Concertus Manila, together with Globe Live.

Regular performances are held at The Theatre at Solaire in Paranaque City from Tuesday to Friday at 8 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday at 2 p.m. and 8 p.m, now until March 12, 2017. Ticket prices are from P1,750 to P7,000.
