Today we flashback to 2013, when Motown first performed on the Bryant Park stage. Motown opened on April 14, 2013 at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre, where it played for 738 performances, and returned to Broadway in 2016. Directed by Charles Randolph-Wright and choreographed by Patricia Wilcox and Warren Adams, it starred Brandon Victor Dixon, Valisia Lekae, Bryan Terrell Clark, Charl Brown, and more.
Tony nominee, Kate Baldwin, joined composer Georgia Stitt onstage at Birdland in New York City to perform Stitt's song, 'Something That You Do' as part of the The Broadway at Birdland concert series.
This week, 'Hamilton' actor, Daniel J. Watts, 'Shuffle Along' Tony- nominee, Brandon Victor Dixon, and 'Motown' actor, Warren Adams, partnered up to organize 'Broadway Circle Up- This Is How We Shoot Back' a video project that saw more than 100 members of the Broadway community meeting under the lights of the Minskoff Theatre to raise their voices in protest of the continuous cycle of prejudice and violence toward black citizens.

The touring production of MOTOWN the Musical sent a special 'Happy Trails' to the Broadway Production of MOTOWN, closing today, Sunday Jan. 18. With direction and arrangement by Jesse Nager (Smokey Robinson) the video features Julius Thomas III (Berry Gordy), Allison Semmes (Diana Ross), Jarran Muse (Marvin Gaye), Krisha Mercano (Suzanne De Passe), and Rod Harrelson (dance captain), all of whom joined the tour from the Broadway company. The video also has appearances from the entire company currently in Philadelphia. Check it out below!
The world is still abuzz with the news that came earlier this week- that there would be no idictment for the police officer who killed Eric Garner. Back in July, WalkRunFly Productions (Warren Adams & Brandon Victor Dixon) partnered with poet Daniel J. Watts, and over 100 Broadway stars, directors, producers, musicians, choreographers, designers and technicians in Times Square to send a message about violence and the killing of Gardner.
