As BroadwayWorld previously reported, Broadway has gotten an upgrade this week as Be More Chill started previews at the Lyceum Theatre! In honor of the occasion, we're throwing it back to the show's rehearsals for this past summer's Off-Broadway run at the Signature Theater Company! Be More Chill is getting its upgrade! The new musical will begin performances at Broadway's Lyceum Theatre (149 West 45th Street) on Wednesday, February 13 at 8PM. The official opening night is Sunday evening, March 10.

Will Roland joined AM to DM by BuzzFeed News this morning to discuss his return to Broadway as the star in the new musical, 'Be More Chill,' his real-life take on high school, how social media has affected theatre, and what Broadway revival he'd love to star in. During the interview he spoke about 1776 saying, 'I love 1776. It's a great show that does not get enough credit. It's all about this short, loud man screaming America into existence.'

The New Group is presenting the Off-Broadway premiere Jerry Springer - The Opera with Jennifer Allen, Florrie Bagel, Brandon Contreras, Sean Patrick Doyle, Bradley Greer, Luke Grooms, Nathaniel Hackmann, Billy Hepfinger, Justin Keyes, Beth Kirkpatrick, Elizabeth Loyacano, Tiffany Mann, Jill Paice, Kim Steele, Nichole Turner, Terrence Mann and Will Swenson. Jerry Springer - The Opera features Music by Richard Thomas and Book & Additional Lyrics by Stewart Lee and Richard Thomas, with Choreography by Chris Bailey. John Rando directs.

In addition to this on Monday January 15 at 9:30pm, KYLE TAYLOR PARKER, known for his work on BROADWAY in the original casts of CHARLIE AND THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY and KINKY BOOTS, and for headlining the first national tour of KINKY BOOTS, makes his Green Room 42 debut in THE SOUL SESSION, an evening of showtunes and pop standards reimagined into soul stirring arrangements. The evening will feature music from Hairspray, West Side Story The Color Purple and more.

Kyle Taylor Parker (KINKY BOOTS, CHARLIE AND THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY) has teamed up with musical genius Joshua Stephen Kartes and David Rowen to launch a monthly series of musical videos called 'Soul Sessions,' featuring covers of songs from the Broadway, pop and jazz catalogue reimagined. Second Stage Theatre will present the world premiere production of INVISIBLE THREAD, a new musical by Matt Gould and Griffin Matthews, in association with American Repertory Theater, directed by Tony Award winner Diane Paulus (Finding Neverland, Pippin). INVISIBLE THREAD will begin previews on Saturday, October 31st at Second Stage's Tony Kiser Theatre (305 West 43rd street). Opening night is scheduled for Wednesday, December 2nd.
