Out of the Box Theatre Company will be present an intimate black box production of Bonnie & Clyde the Musical as a part of its fourth season, bringing it to Southern California for the first time since its World Premiere at La Jolla Playhouse prior to its Broadway run. The limited engagement of this thrilling new musical will run April 3-13, 2014 (Thursday-Sunday) at Center Stage Theater in Santa Barbara, CA. Nashville and the Tennessee Performing Arts Center (TPAC) host the Broadway-bound world premiere of "The Nutty Professor" Musical. Directed by Jerry Lewis, the show is a new musical comedy based on the 1963 film of the same name. The Broadway at TPAC Special Event began previews on July 24, and officially opened on July 31- running through August 19 in TPAC's James K. Polk Theater. Featuring music by Oscar, Emmy, th erecently deceased Tony and Pulitzer Prize winner Marvin Hamlisch (A Chorus Line) and a book and lyrics by three-time Tony Award winner Rupert Holmes (The Mystery of Edwin Drood), "The Nutty Professor" is a musical treat for the whole family, based on the classic 1963 film in which Lewis starred and co-wrote. The Broadway-bound THE NUTTY PROFESSOR musical, premiering this summer at TPAC in Nashville, will feature the talents of Broadway favorites Mark Jacoby, Marissa McGowan, and previously announced Michael Andrew. Actor and performer Israel Cortez is becoming quite the YouTube sensation thanks in part to his solo remix interpretation of the powerhouse song 'It's All Over' from the film version of the musical 'Dreamgirls'. Cortez, a La Palma, California, resident, plays all the parts in the song, which is sung by Jamie Foxx, Keith Robinson, Beyonce, Anika Noni Rose and Sharon Leal as they confront Jennifer Hudson's 'Effie'.

Dreamgirls, directed and choreographed by Robert Longbottom, tells the rags-to-riches story of an up-and-coming 1960s singing girl group and the triumphs and tribulations that come with fame and fortune. The touring production is currently playing the CTG/Ahmanson Theatre in Los Angeles through April 4. BroadwayWorld brings you a look behind the scenes of the Dreamgirl's LA opening.

Cincinnati's Procter and Gamble Hall- Aronoff Center for the Arts will present DREAMGIRLS from June 8 through June 20, 2010.

The premiere of Dreamgirls in Los Angeles last night, March 2, was clouded by friends of Marie Osmond mouring the loss of her son, Michael Blosil, who recently committed suicide. Stars such as Angela Bassett and Nia Long expressed their condolences to the Osmonds on ET.
