Buena Vista Social Club, the new Broadway musical, was spotlighted on this weekend's episode of Sunday Morning. The musical is currently in previews at the Gerald Schoenfeld Theatre.

Filmed last night, Sunday, June 9, live at the Netflix FYSEE space, the special event marked the first time executive producer Oprah Winfrey interviewed The Exonerated Five - Antron McCray, Korey Wise, Kevin Richardson, Raymond Santana and Yusef Salaam.   

Based on a true story that gripped the country, When They See Us will chronicle the notorious case of five teenagers of color, labeled the Central Park Five, who were convicted of a rape they did not commit. The four part limited series will focus on the five teenagers from Harlem -- Antron McCray, Kevin Richardson, Yusef Salaam, Raymond Santana and Korey Wise. Beginning in the spring of 1989, when the teenagers were first questioned about the incident, the series will span 25 years, highlighting their exoneration in 2002 and the settlement reached with the city of New York in 2014.

This weekend, Glenda Jackson was honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Lillys, an organization that honors women in the theater. Jackson was honored onstage following a performance of King Lear, by her costar Elizabeth Marvel.

'King Lear' star Ruth Wilson was a guest on last night's episode of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. During the interview, Wilson recalled when she was in the show 'Header' at the National Theatre and she had to think fast during a live performance when someone from the audience called out, 'Is there a doctor in the house?'

One of Shakespeare's greatest dramas officially returned to Broadway last night. Led by two-time Academy Award winner, two-time Emmy Award winner, and 2018 Tony Award winner Glenda Jackson, King Lear, under the direction of Sam Gold, opened at the Cort Theatre, where it will play through Sunday, July 7, 2019.

The Public Theater is currently presenting its Free Shakespeare in the Park production of A MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S DREAM, directed by Lear deBessonet with choreography by Chase Brock.
