But first, the episode starts off with a look at The Wedding Singer, based on the popular Adam Sandler film. It starred newcomer Stephen Lynch and joining him in the role of Julie, the waitress with a heart of gold, was one Broadway's loveliest leading ladies, Laura Benanti. The musical features a score by Matthew Sklar and Chad Beguelin and a book by Begluin and Tim Herlihy. Rounding out the cast was Kevin Cahoon, Matthew Saldivar, Amy Spanger, Rita Gardner, Felicia Finley and Richard H. Blake. Benanti told Ridge, 'I'm really proud of it. It's nice to play the girl next door. I have never done that. This is really my first brand new Broadway musical. So, I have learned a lot.'

Maurice Hines, best known for Eubie!, Uptown….It's Hot!, and Hot Feet, returns to Feinstein's/54 Below (June7-8) in Tappin' Thru Life with the internationally acclaimed All Female Jazz Orchestra DIVA. Along with tappers John Manzari and Leo Manzari, he pays tribute to his brother Gregory and their lives in show business, from TV to film, Broadway, Vegas, and beyond. Featuring songs like "Luck Be A Lady," "Smile," and "Come Fly with Me," Tappin' Thru Life celebrates the performers that inspire Hines, from Frank Sinatra to Lena Horne.

Previously recorded by such legendary acts as The Drifters, Elvis Presley, and The Beach Boys, the revival's soulful take on this hit song features Max Sangerman, along with members of the cast and band of Smokey Joe's Cafe, jamming out together at Stage 42.

The vibrant nine-member ensemble led by director choreographer Joshua Bergasse brings new life to more than 30 classic songs including 'Stand by Me,' 'I'm a Woman,' 'Hound Dog,' 'Fools Fall In Love,' 'On Broadway,' 'Yakety Yak,' 'Pearl's a Singer,' 'Treat Me Nice,' 'There Goes My Baby,' 'Love Potion #9,' 'Jailhouse Rock,' and 'Spanish Harlem.' Over the course of a 61-year partnership, Jerry Leiber (d. 2011) and Mike Stoller created enduring classics in a variety of genres including rhythm & blues, pop, country, jazz, cabaret, and-perhaps most notably-rock & roll. Elvis Presley and the Coasters are only two of the many acts whose careers skyrocketed because of Leiber and Stoller's creative partnership.

Soul Doctor, about the life and music of Rabbi Shlomo Carlebach and his unlikely friendship with Nina Simone, is currently in previews at the Circle in the Square Theatre, with an official opening slated for Thursday, August 15. Soul Doctor has music by Shlomo Carlebach, orchestrated and arranged for Broadway by Steve Margoshes (Smokey Joe's Cafe, The Who's Tommy), book and direction by Daniel S.
