Michael James Scott (Genie) surprised a lucky guest – the 888th ticketholder scanned at the theatre that afternoon – with a cruise aboard Disney Cruise Line’s newest ship, the Disney Wish. The giveaway was announced during curtain call in front of the sold-out audience.

This morning, Good Morning America shared the first-ever televised broadcast of the magic carpet flight during 'A Whole New World' in Aladdin, featuring new cast members Michael Maliakel as Aladdin and Shoba Narayan as Jasmine. The New Amsterdam Theatre was shining, shimmering, splendid once again last night as Disney's smash hit musical comedy Aladdin returned to Broadway, following the unprecedented 18-month shutdown of the theater industry.

The Broadway cast of Aladdin began rehearsals this week for the company’s reopening later this month. As previously announced, Aladdin will resume performances on Tuesday, September 28 at the New Amsterdam Theatre.

Epic Megalopolis Productions (New York/Los Angeles) will produce a concert reading of Swedish pop band Brainpool's new rock opera JUNK on November 17th and 19th at the National Opera Center in New York City. JUNK will be the first rock opera presented in the new recital hall opened by Opera America earlier this year, a venue dedicated to supporting the creation, presentation, and enjoyment of opera.
