The all-new production of the Tony Award-winning hit musical The Wiz will open on Broadway on Wednesday, April 17, 2024, in a limited engagement at the Marquis Theatre.  Preview performances will begin on March 29. Check out an all new first look photo, as well as a video of the cast performing with the orchestra for the first time!

On Monday night, January 20, 2014 BroadwayWorld.com kicked off our 10th anniversary celebration with a benefit for BC/EFA entitled BroadwayWorld.com Visits Oz. In celebration of Michael Urie's birthday, we bring you a special clip of his performance. A longtime friend to BroadwayWorld.com, during his sold-out run of BUYER & CELLAR, he made time to come to JOE'S PUB to be part of our 10th Anniversary. At the event, he performed a special piece, written by BUYER & CELLAR Playwright's Jonathan Tolins, entitled MY PASSION FOR OZ.

Five-time Tony winner Audra McDonald will return to the stage as legendary songstress Billie Hollidayin a revival of Lady Day at Emerson's Bar and Grill. The show will open at the Circle in the Square Theatre on April 13 for a limited 10-week run. Performances will begin on March 25. Today, the Center for Reproductive Rights released a new PSA featuring Tony and multiple Grammy Award winner Dee Dee Bridgewater as part of a new video series following the 41st anniversary of Roe v. Wade, the historic US Supreme Court decision that recognized a woman's constitutional right to abortion.

The new Billie Holiday musical Lady Day starring Tony and multiple Grammy Award-winner Dee Dee Bridgewater, opened last week at the Little Shubert Theatre (422 West 42nd Street, between 9th and 10th Avenues). Written and directed by Stephen Stahl, the musical makes its New York debut having been produced at the Theatre de Boulogne-Billancourt and Theatre du GymnaseMarie Bell in Paris as well as The Donmar Warehouse and The Piccadilly Theatre in London, where it received critical praise and garnered an Olivier 'Best Actress in a Musical' Award nomination for Ms. Bridgewater.
