In 2016, Derek Hough was set to star in a Broadway revival of Singin' In The Rain. However, later that year, BroadwayWorld reported that the production had been cancelled, due to lack of available theatres.

Reynolds' career began unexpectedly in 1948 when she won a beauty contest at the age of 16. Two of the contest judges were scouts from Warner Brothers and MGM. When they heard Reynolds' show-stopping rendition of Betty Hutton's 'I'm Just a Square in a Social Circle,' they took an interest in the talented singer.

The Muny presents Singin' in the Rain, June 27 - July 3. Broadway, film and television stars Corbin Bleuand Jeffrey Schecter portray Don Lockwood and Cosmo Brown, respectively, and former Muny Kid, Muny Teen and Indiana University student Berklea Going will star as Kathy Selden. A public memorial for Carrie Fisher and Debbie Reynolds will be held today at 1pm PST, 4PM EST at 1pm, March 25 at Forest Lawn, Hollywood Hills, where the mother/daughter are buried. The ceremony will be held in a 1,200 seat theater at the cemetery and live-streamed below.

Now according to TMZ, EMTs were called this afternoon for Debbie Reynolds (Hollywood icon and mother of Fisher), after Reynolds suffered a possible stroke in the home of her son, Todd Fisher. Reynolds was reportedly taken to the emergency room just after 1pm.
