A group of stars have performed a new virtual cover of The New World from Jason Robert Brown's Songs For a New World.

Arena Stage at the Mead Center for American Theater presents Disney's Tony Award-winning musical Newsies, an inspiring story about kids who fight for what is right at the turn of the century, with music by Alan Menken, lyrics by Jack Feldman and book by Harvey Fierstein. Inspired by the real-life Newsboys Strike of 1899 in New York City, this family-friendly musical follows the story of newsboys and newsgirls who dream of a better life and lead a crusade for justice. Just in time for the holidays, the score features fan favorites, including 'King of New York,' 'Carrying the Banner' and 'Seize the Day.' Newsies, directed by Molly Smith, with choreography by Parker Esse and music direction by Laura Bergquist, will run November 1-December 22, 2019 in the iconic in-the-round Fichandler Stage.

Encores! will present Me and My Girl as the final production of the Encores! at 25 season at New York City Center. Me and My Girl, the first Encores! production originally written and produced in London's West End, will star Christian Borle, Bill Buell, Chuck Cooper, Suzzanne Douglas, Mark Evans, Harriet Harris, JohnHorton, Simon Jones, Laura Michelle Kelly, Lisa O'Hare, Don Stephenson. At the 29th Annual Gypsy of the year Competition, Chaz Wolcott directed and choreographed a special uplifting number set to Sammy Davis Jr.'s version of Gonna Build a Mountain. The piece showed the irresistible and infectious power of one passionate actor's efforts (Tony D'Alelio) in making a difference with Broadway Cares.

The indomitable and generous spirit of the theatre community - those onstage, backstage and in the audience - shined brightly as the 29th annual Gypsy of the Year competition celebrated six weeks of fundraising work of 56 Broadway, Off-Broadway and national touring companies for Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS. Gypsy of the Year (#GypsyOfTheYear), which was held December 4 and 5, 2017, raised a record-breaking $5,609,211 for Broadway Cares. Check out highlights from the show below!

Disney Theatrical Productions will present the eagerly anticipated North American tour of Broadway's Tony® Award-winning smash hit musical, Disney's NEWSIES. Rehearsals began on Wednesday, September 3 in New York City in preparation for the first performance on Saturday, October 11 in Schenectady, NY at Proctors. During its first year of touring in the 2014-15 season, the production will play 25 cities, over 43 weeks. The production features Dan DeLuca as 'Jack Kelly', Steve Blanchard as 'Joseph Pulitzer', Stephanie Styles as 'Katherine', Angela Grovey as 'Medda Larkin', Jacob Kemp as 'Davey', Zachary Sayle as 'Crutchie', and Vincent Crocilla and Anthony Rosenthal alternating the role of 'Les.'
