Like the rest of you, I've spent this week obsessing over 'Fosse Verdon' on FX and especially Gwen Verdon, played brilliantly on the series by Michelle Williams, in a performance that makes you want to reinvestigate what made Gwen so great. Sweet Charity is the perfect place to start. Gwen became a star and won her first Tony in a featured role in Can Can and she gained worldwide acclaim (and number 2 in a total of four Tonys) as Lola in Damn Yankees on stage and screen and of course there were many other shows and movies and TV appearances, but Sweet Charity was the show Bob Fosse (and Cy Coleman and Dorothy Fields and Neil Simon) created just for her. She may have lost the Tony to Angela Lansbury in Mame, but Gwen got that iconic poster and all those songs.

Among the performers was Emmy and Golden Globe Award winner Darren Criss who performed the rapid-fire patter of Stephen Sondheim's "Getting Married Today" from Company. Criss was joined by Ward Billeisen, Michael James Scott and the Broadway Backwards ensemble.

Among the performances of the night were Jenn Colella, along with Broadway Inspirational Voices, performing Louder Than Words from Tick, Tick...BOOM!

Yael Silver, Robin Carus and Van Dean today released “We Are The World,” a music video featuring an all-star roster of theater artists and calling for healing and unity in the world today. Bebe Neuwirth guest stars as Judge Claudia Friend on this Sunday's THE GOOD FIGHT. In the upcoming episode, Adrian becomes an overnight celebrity after his candid appearance on a cable news show goes viral. Lucca, who has yet to formally announce her pregnancy, worries about her future at the firm. Meanwhile, Adrian's newfound cable news fame grabs the attention of Chicago's top law firm and the jury of his latest case. Bebe Neuwirth, Matt Walsh and Greta Lee guest star.

Today as we celebrate a landmark 21 years since the long-running revival of Kander and Ebb's Chicago landed on Broadway, let's venture way back in time to when the revival made its world premiere at City Center Encores.

Abingdon Theatre Company has a star-studded gala in the works featuring a musical revue with some of Broadway's best and brightest. Winners for the 2017 Chita Rivera Awards were announced earlier this week at The Al Hirschfeld Theatre. Following the show, guests celebrated at Sardi's and BroadwayWorld was on hand for the festivities!

On the 16th Anniversary of 9/11, BWW looks back at a special tribute video filmed back in 2001 which proves the tried and true tradition - 'the show must go on!'

Serenbe Playhouse, recipient of the prestigious American Theatre Wing grant, and recently honored with the most Suzi Bass Awards for a musical in Atlanta (Miss Saigon), presents ROBIN HOOD, new adaptation by Rachel Teagle. The show is directed by Broadway's Paul McGill with original music by GRAMMY nominee John Burke. The show opened on June 2nd and runs through August 13th. Watch highlights from the show below!

The Drama League has announced the 2017 Drama League Awards Nominees for Outstanding Play, Outstanding Revival of a Play, Outstanding Musical, Outstanding Revival of a Musical, and the much-coveted Distinguished Performance Award.

The Broadway Experience musical theatre intensive will celebrate its 10th Anniversary season in summer 2017 in New York City.
