Today we rewind to 2013, when First Date arrived on Broadway at the Longacre Theatre, where it played for 174 performances. Led by Zachary Levi and Krysta Rodriguez, the musical featured a book by Austin Winsberg and music and lyrics by Alan Zachary and Michael Weiner.

Stars of NBC's Zoey's Extraordinary Playlist (Jane Levy, Skylar Astin, Alex Newell, John Clarence Stewart, Mary Steenburgen, Lauren Graham, and Peter Gallagher), along with creator Austin Winsberg and choreographer Mandy Moore, gathered at Paley Front Row 2020 to celebrate their show.

The fourth episode of Zoey's Extraordinary Playlist will air on Sunday, March 1. The episode features the character Mo, played by Alex Newell!

If there's a song in your heart, it will get in her head. Jane Levy stars in this high-concept drama as Zoey Clarke, a whip-smart computer coder forging her way in San Francisco. After an unusual event, Zoey, who always preferred podcasts over pop songs, suddenly starts to hear the innermost wants, thoughts and desires of the people around her - her family, co-workers and complete strangers - through popular songs.

This is definitely something that will last: on this day six years ago, the original musical First Date officially opened on Broadway! San Diego Musical Theatre (SDMT) presents the complete cast and creative team for the San Diego Regional Premiere of First Date. This musical comedy includes music and lyrics by Alan Zachary and Michael Weiner, with a book by Austin Winsberg. First Date marks the opening of SDMT's 2017 Off Broadway Series and features direction by J. Scott Lapp, music direction by Jon Lorenz, and choreography by Allison Spratt Pearce. Performances run from March 31 - May 7, 2017 at the Horton Grand Theatre.
