Kenny Ortega will direct a big screen adaptation of the Tony Award winning musical In the Heights, according to Variety. The film will be the director's follow-up to Michael Jackson's This is It. The film will be made by Universal Pictures starring the show's creator and leading performer Lin-Manuel Miranda. The production also stars Tony Award-winner and Academy Award-nominee Viola Davis. FENCES, directed by Kenny Leon, opens tonight, Monday, April 26, 2010 at the Cort Theatre. The strictly limited 13-week engagement began previews on April 14.

Actor and performer Israel Cortez is becoming quite the YouTube sensation thanks in part to his solo remix interpretation of the powerhouse song 'It's All Over' from the film version of the musical 'Dreamgirls'. Cortez, a La Palma, California, resident, plays all the parts in the song, which is sung by Jamie Foxx, Keith Robinson, Beyonce, Anika Noni Rose and Sharon Leal as they confront Jennifer Hudson's 'Effie'.
