The 2024 Olivier Awards are fast approaching on April 14. Ahead of one of the most exciting nights in theatreland, our critics – Aliya Al-Hassan, Mica Blackwell, Alexander Cohen, Katie Kirkpatrick, Kat Mokrynski, Gary Naylor, Kerrie Nicholson, Matthew Paluch and Christiana Rose share their thoughts about who and what will triumph on the night, as well as who should twin each category.

The National Theatre has announced the full professional cast for The Underworld, the culmination of the NT’s multi-location production of The Odyssey. The stage production of the million-copy bestseller by Hanya Yanagihara, A Little Life, has now opened at the Harold Pinter Theatre. Starring James Norton, Luke Thompson, Omari Douglas , Zach Wyatt, Elliot Cowan , Zubin Varla, Nathalie Armin and Emilio Doorgasingh, Ivo van Hove's production runs until 18 June. The play it's certain to divide audiences and critics alike: its effect ultimately depends on what one looks for. It's only a shadow of the book, but, realistically, this is probably the best stage adaptation fans and sceptics will get.

Due to record-breaking demand at Richmond Theatre and the Harold Pinter Theatre, Wessex Grove, Gavin Kalin Productions and Playful Productions today announce that Ivo van Hove's English language première of Hanya Yanagihara's critically acclaimed prize-winning novel, A Little Life, will now play a further five weeks only at the Savoy Theatre from 4 July.

James Norton says that playing Jude St Francis in the upcoming production of A Little Life will be 'a physical and emotional drain'.
