Louis Gaunt will join the cast of Mary Poppins from 22 June 2022 to play the iconic role of Bert, replacing Charlie Stemp whilst he performs as Bobby in the Chichester Festival Theatre production of Crazy for You this summer.

Based on the stories of P.L. Travers and the original Walt Disney film, Cameron Mackintosh and Disney’s Olivier award-winning production of Mary Poppins resumed performances at the Prince Edward Theatre on 7 August 2021 and is currently booking to 13 February 2022.

Joining the previously announced Zizi Strallen as Mary Poppins and Charlie Stemp as Bert are Charlie Anson as George Banks, Amy Griffiths as Winifred Banks, Petula Clark as Bird Woman, Liz Robertson as Miss Andrew, Claire Machin as Mrs Brill, Jack North as Robertson Ay and Paul F. Monaghan as Admiral Boom and Bank Chairman.
The concert was produced by Theatre Support Fund+ which was founded during the pandemic to raise monies theatre freelancers affected by the closure of theatres across the country. Find out how to watch the broadcast here!
The concerts will feature a 28- piece socially-distanced orchestra playing David Cullen & Andrew Lloyd Webber'S original orchestrations. The concerts are directed by Jordan Murphy and conducted by Alex Parker. It will feature choreography by Joanna Goodwin, lighting by Jack Weir, sound design by Paul Smith.
