NYC has so many incredible events, but here are a few top picks to consider this week including winter holiday shows with some of Broadway's biggest stars, standup comedy, and more.

Birdland Jazz Club and Birdland Theater will present a full slate of performances from November 17–30, including appearances by Eliane Elias, Steve Ross, Tatiana Eva Marie, Ken Peplowski, and the Charles Mingus Orchestra.

Diane Keaton made her Broadway debut in the original Broadway production of Hair at the age of 22. The landmark musical started out at the Public Theater off-Broadway in 1967 before transferring to the Biltmore Theatre on Broadway in 1968. Keaton joined the cast for the Broadway run, originating her track in the show.

Birdland Jazz Club and Birdland Theater announced their October 20 through November 2 lineup of shows, including The Bean Tones, Frank Catalano Quartet, Vince Giordano & The Nighthawks, and Jim Caruso's Cast Party with Billy Stritch at the piano.

Jerry Adler, the versatile performer best known for his role as Hesh Rabkin on The Sopranos, has passed away at the age of 96. His longtime friend Frank J. Reilly shared the news on social media.

Joe Caroff, perhaps best known for designing the James Bond gun logo in 1962, passed away Sunday, August 17, at the age of 103. Throughout his career, Caroff designed hundreds of film posters, including several adaptations of Broadway shows. 

BroadwayWorld is saddened to report that Gary Smith, the Emmy-winning television producer whose credits included six Tony Awards broadcasts, passed away on Saturday, July 18, in Los Angeles.

Fostered is a must-see world premiere comedy at Pacific Resident Theatre in Venice.  The spirit of silliness and fun is bubbly and infectious.  How often do we get to enjoy something sexy, smart, funny and effervescent, like a classic, delicious Woody Allen sex comedy?  The roars of audience laughter and applause never let up, and personally, I laughed so hard, I almost fell out of my chair.
