Freestyle Digital Media, the digital film distribution division of Byron Allen's Entertainment Studios, has acquired the North American rights to Emma Forrest's directorial debut UNTOGETHER. Following its world premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival in April, and starring Jamie Dornan (50 SHADES OF GREY), Jemima Kirke (HBO's “Girls”), Ben Mendelsohn (ROGUE ONE, Netflix's “Bloodline”), Lola Kirke (Amazon's “Mozart in the Jungle”), and Billy Crystal (WHEN HARRY MET SALLY), the film will hit select theaters nationwide February 8, 2019 along with all digital platforms.

Blitz Films and Straight Up Films announce that Stephen Dorff (“True Detective,” BLADE) has been signed to star in director Nick Sarkisov's English-language debut EMBATTLED. Written by David McKenna (AMERICAN HISTORY X, GET CARTER, BLOW), the film also includes McKenna's son, Colin, who was born with Williams Syndrome and inspired a supporting role for the film. Sarkisov is set to produce for Blitz Films, alongside Kate Cohen for Straight Up Films, and Scott LaStaiti, with Blitz co-founder Sergey Sarkisov and Dorff serving as executive producers. Eryl Cochran from Blitz Films will oversee production. The film is scheduled to shoot in Alabama this September.

Netflix announced today that Emmy Award winner Keegan-Michael Key (Key and Peele, Friends From College) will be co-starring in Dolemite Is My Name! alongside Eddie Murphy. The film is based on the real life story of Rudy Ray Moore and stars Eddie Murphy as Moore. Key will be playing Jerry Jones.

Despite a bomb threat that caused the audience of the Saturday matinee to be evacuated from the Alex Theatre in Glendale and the performance to be cancelled, GMCLA persevered and went forward with the Saturday evening performance of their spectacular Pink Carpet.

The new, vérité-styled docucomedy “Life After QVC,” starring former QVC tv host Dale Guy Madison, will make its world premiere at the 26th annual Independent Filmmakers Showcase (IFS) Film Festival, set to take place May 9- 20, 2018 at various venues throughout Los Angeles, Beverly Hills and Santa Monica. Minds Eye Entertainment, Falconer Pictures, VMI Worldwide, and QME Entertainment announced today that principal photography has begun on DAUGHTER OF THE WOLF in Kelowna, British Columbia. The action thriller stars Richard Dreyfuss, Gina Carano and Brendan Fehr.

The film stars Arielle Brachfeld, Azim Rizk, Peter Bogdanovich, Lin Shaye, Ashley Park, Camilla Jackson and Julian Bane. The film will be available in theaters on March 9th and on digital platforms on March 13th, 2018.

WWE Studios and Sony Pictures Worldwide Acquisitions (SPWA) today announced that the two studios will partner again to release the upcoming action film THE MARINE 6: CLOSE QUARTERS, directed by James Nunn (The Marine 5: Battleground, Eliminators). The film will feature WWE Superstars The Miz and Becky Lynch, and WWE Hall of Famer Shawn Michaels, and is set to begin production on Monday, November 27 in London.
