Freestyle Digital Media To Release I HATE KIDS This January

Freestyle Digital Media, the digital film distribution division of Byron Allen's Entertainment Studios, has acquired the North American rights to John Asher's I HATE KIDS. This is the second title from John Asher that Freestyle Digital Media has acquired, following 2016's A BOY CALLED PO. Starring Tom Everett Scott (TruTV's "I'm Sorry"), Tituss Burgess (Netflix's "Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt"), Rachel Boston (500 DAYS OF SUMMER) and Rhea Seehorn (AMC's "Better Call Saul") film will hit select theaters nationwide January 18, 2019 along with all digital platforms.

"I HATE KIDS is a terrific comedy with an equal amount of laughs and heart," said Bill Vergos, VP of Operations for Freestyle Digital Media. "We at Freestyle Digital Media are delighted to make I HATE KIDS available in select theaters and on multiple digital platforms in January."

Nick Pearson (Tom Everett Scott), the author of a best-selling comedic book, titled "I Hate Kids", and former lothario, is on the verge of marrying the woman of his dreams (Rachel Boston), who happens to share his disinterest for the "child-rearing experience." But the rehearsal dinner is interrupted by an uninvited guest... an awkward thirteen-year-old boy named Mason (Julian Feder), who shows up claiming to be Nickʼs son. With the aid of a flamboyant "radio show psychic", The Amazing Fabular (Titus Burgess) and with just a few days before the wedding, the three strangers embark on a wild road trip to find Mason's mother, who could be any one of a dozen eccentric women from Nickʼs past.

"Freestyle is a great partner for this title and I am so excited that I HATE KIDS will soon be seen by audiences nationwide," said director John Asher, "I'm really proud of this family comedy."

The comedy was produced by Rachel McHale and Todd Traina, and written by Traina and Frank Dietz.

The deal was negotiated by Rachel Koehler of Freestyle Digital Media.
