Emmy Award-winning writer and playwright Qui Nguyen will be honored at the 2026 WILLIAM INGE THEATRE FESTIVAL in Independence, Kansas. Nguyen will receive the William Inge Distinguished Achievement in the American Theatre Award in recognition of his impact on contemporary storytelling.

The Susan Smith Blackburn Prize has revealed this year's finalists for the prestigious international playwriting award- the largest and oldest award recognising women+ writers for plays of outstanding quality written for the English-speaking theatre.
