The launch of Loghaven Artist Residency is the culmination of years of planning, research, design, and input from artists, arts leaders, and the Alliance of Artist Communities.

Seven playwrights have been challenged to write a brand spanking new short play using a tourist trap (Mount Rushmore, Hollywood Sign, etc) as a springboard. The Museum of Contemporary Art North Miami (MOCA) is thrilled to welcome back The French Horn Collective as part of the monthly 'Jazz at MOCA' series on Friday, Jan. 31. The French Horn Collective is an energetic and progressive band that performs an extensive variety of Gypsy Jazz, Swing and modern original French music. Led by Parisian musician, multi-instrumentalist, composer, singer and songwriter, Vincent Raffard, the diverse group consists of highly talented musicians from various musical backgrounds and finds inspiration from genres such as Gypsy Jazz, Hot Swing, Ska and Polka, formulating the group's unique, progressive sound. The French Horn Collective will begin its performance at 8 p.m., rain or shine.
The Capezio A.C.E. Awards crowned a 2020 winner at last night's ceremony that played to a packed house at the historic Montalbán Theatre in Hollywood as part of the MOVES at The Montalbán dance festival produced by Break the Floor Productions and presented by Capezio. The winner of the 2020 Capezio A.C.E. Award for outstanding choreography is choreographic team Grayson McGuire & Shiori Kamijo. Grayson and Shiori will receive a cash prize of $15,000 to be used towards the production of their own show at next year's MOVES at The Montalbán. The runner-up for this year's award, and the recipient of a $5,000 cash prize, is Noelle Marsh. There was a tie for second runner-up, each receiving $3,000, between Sarah Steben and Brandon Croisetiere. Hosted by hip-hop legend Kenny Wormald, the esteemed judging panel included such dance industry icons as Anita Mann, Marguerite Derricks, Ray Leeper, Vincent Paterson, Tony Selznick and Tessandra Chavez. Capezio and Break the Floor would like to thank all 26 choreographer finalists and their amazing dancers for competing in this year's awards.

La Jolla Playhouse has announced the final two productions for its 2020/2021 season: the world premieres of to the yellow house, by Kimber Lee (tokyo fish story), directed by former Playhouse Associate Artistic Director Neel Keller (School for Wives, Light Up the Sky), running July 14 - August 9; and Guilty Pleasure, by Paul Rudnick (Jeffrey; screenplays for Sister Act, In & Out), directed by Christopher Ashley (Come From Away, Diana), the Rich Family Artistic Director of La Jolla Playhouse. Produced in association with Diversionary Theatre, Guilty Pleasure will run November 8 - December 6.
